Your wedding photos are one of the most important investments you'll make for your special day.
Your wedding photos are one of the most important investments you'll make for your big day. After all, they're the only thing you'll have left to remember all the special moments from that day for years to come. That's why it's so important to make the most of your wedding photography and get the best possible results with your photographer.
Hire a photographer who aligns with you & your vision
Take time to browse different photographers' websites and portfolios to find someone who aligns with your vision and style. Pay attention to the types of photos they take, the colours and tones they use, and the overall mood of their images. You will know from the first interaction if you're going to love working with them or not. Go with your gut.
Do an engagement session with your photographer.
An engagement session is a great way to get to know your photographer better and get comfortable being in front of the camera. It's also a great opportunity to get a few beautiful photos of the two of you together before the wedding. I love meeting couples for a shoot before their Wedding!
Plan out your day with your photographer.
On the day of your wedding, you'll be busy with a million things. You don't want to be thinking about your run sheet. I love working with our couples to create the perfect timeline for the day, we work in with all the vendors and we can prioritise what you are after the most. A lot of couples opt for a First Look to create more time with their guests during canapé hour for example. We can also cut the bridal portrait session short to give you more time with your guests post-ceremony and then we can escape for a little portrait session at sunset instead!
Here are a few additional tips for making the most of your wedding photography:
Trust your photographer. We're the experts, so trust our guidance.
Be yourself and have fun! The more relaxed and happy you are, the better your photos will be.
Don't be afraid to get creative. I love knowing what YOU as a couple are after, will you frame these images on your wall? Print a book? Aim for a Magazine feature? Let me know so we can ensure we work together and make your photos match the outcome best.
